Holiday Baking with Wendy!
We caught up with Emma Vosti to chat all things mum life and business.
Here's how it went...
Can you tell us a bit about your journey — what led you to start your own agency?
I've worked in Television since I was at university as an Intern for Channel Nine and I've always had a passion for storytelling. I started as a publicity assistant at Network 10 when I was 21 and eventually got an opportunity to become a producer at Channel Seven; that led to some incredible opportunities behind the scenes and eventually I got asked to step in on-air as a reporter on the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games. It wasn't just a case of the right place, right time; although that was handy. It was years of hard work and commitment and saying yes to new things and growing my skills as a producer. I never looked back after that and have had the privilege of covering some of the biggest events in sport all across the world.
In 2020 video content became more important than ever for businesses to reach their audiences and we saw a real opportunity to help brands step into a pretty overwhelming space given how fast things have moved with digital storytelling. So One Stop. Agency was born. We are a full service creative production house and I run the business alongside my best-friend Shiv who also has a comms and media background; our goal is always to make the process fun and seamless for our client's.
How do you balance motherhood and running a business — is there such a thing as balance?
I don't. honestly it's impossible, some weeks the pendulum swings one way and some the other. Firstly, having a business partner that is also a Mum is an absolute super power! We really make it a priority to ensure we are present for our kids but the reality of running your own business is that you are always available, it's also such a privilege for us to have amazing relationships with our clients, many of whom are also working Mum's so we all get it and at the end of the day we all want to do a great job and go home to our families.
How would you describe your personal style?
It's evolving. I would say it's minimal but elevated. I'm a real jeans girl so I'm obsessed with the Lola Barrel Jeans. I also love finding new ways to style a classic piece too.
What’s one piece of advice you live by in both business and motherhood?
Say no. You can't do it all. I've learnt this the hard way but the older I get the better I'm getting at setting boundaries and prioritising my mental and physical health so I can turn up for the people I love.
What’s your go-to outfit formula for a day packed with meetings and creative work?
Ooooo; the Arizona Pant, a nice knit and a trench coat.
