Sustainability practices
Here at F&N we strongly believe in circular fashion. Ensuring pieces are not wastefully produced and are made with the highest quality product is at the forefront of our mind and collections. Designed to last, our garments are made from materials that wash and wear time and time again.
Clothing is just the beginning in circularity; did you know we sell reusable homewares and accessories too? F&N strive to have environmentally friendly options in all aspects of our range that are made to last. Under our Home & Lifestyle tab on the site you can find reusable coffee cups, water bottles, cutlery kits, and more!
We strive to produce over 60% of our garments with sustainable materials and processes with an emphasis on organic cotton in our styles. Recycled materials are used in the production processes where able and are indicated in the product description.
100% recycled cotton, sustainable print and dye processes are all used in our graphic tee range. Our denim range is now created with paper branded patches.
We hope to continue to bring in more and more organic and recycled product in our ranges, focusing on an increase in recycled and organic cotton across all fleece and jersey in future collections.
Feather and Noise work to avoid overproduction and excess product waste by purchasing in smaller quantities. This allows interest and product demand to influence the amount of stock purchased before creating and limits our production environmental impact. We strive to make as minimal fabric waste as possible in pattern cutting and production. We are mindful when we have large off cuts or end of rolls and are always thinking of innovative ways to use excess fabric, for example using printed dress fabric in matching scrunchies
When stock is unable to be resold or reused, we donate it to local organizations such as Save the Children.
F&N work to be as sustainable as we can in our packing processes at HQ. As we must preserve the quality of our garments in our warehouse, we do use some plastic. This plastic is also used in the delivery of the garments to us, and out to you. We do work to re-use this plastic within our shipping processes where we can. For the journey to your door, F&N pack your purchases in branded post bags or cardboard boxes (depending on the size of order) for transit to ensure your order is delivered as safely and securely as possible.
Our post bag packaging contains 80% Recycled PCW material and can be recycled using any soft plastics collection program near you. Australia Post (our supplier of packaging) have pledged to achieve a 100% sustainable packaging range by 2025 which we hope to continue to source to ensure your parcel is not only safe on its journey, but as sustainable as possible too.
We continue to work with Australia Post as a singular dispatcher to reduce emissions from the use of multiple couriers. All parcels delivered by us through Australia post are involved in the Carbon Neutral Deliveries program, whereby the emissions created are offset through Australian and overseas environmental projects.
In house staff work to reduce waste in all day-to-day operations. Our team works with a conscious effort to reduce waste, reuse, and recycle where possible. Our team absolutely adore our reusable range and avoids single use plastics in the office. By doing your part with use of reusable product, we can reduce our carbon footprint together!
Here at F&N we are completely plastic free. We only use recyclable paper shopping bags and reusable tote bags to pack your goodies in our Styling Suite at HQ.
